Unfortunately, glaucoma runs in my family . It is a serious condition that cannot be healed only controlled. Dr Les Seigel is an amazing doctor who , with the utmost kindness and concern, treated my father's glaucoma until he passed away. My father's biggest fear was to lose his eye sight and Dr Seigel did not let that happen!!! I have also been diagnosed with glaucoma and trust Dr. Les 100% with my care . He told me everything I needed to know about my eyes he never told me nothing that wasn't true I was too different other places and both of them did not tell me the truth. If you get a glaucoma diagnosis, I highly recommend GCM. They are experts with this chronic condition and I believe they saved me from losing any eye sight more I lost while under the care of a different ophthalmologist who chose to perform surgery and then did not track my sight degradation adequately. Over the past 20 years, Dr. Les Siegal has performed laser surgery for glaucoma, cataract surgery, kept my glaucoma pressure safe and diagnosed my macular degeneration. Now, because of my extremely dry eyes, (which no over the counter dry eye drops helped), he has prescribed autologous eye drops compounded with my own blood and now no longer do I have dry eyes - a miracle!! The doctors are knowledgeable, caring and compassionate physicians that provide excellent care. I was completely satisfied with the competent handling of my glaucoma problem in my left eye by Dr. Les Siegel. I was able to discuss openly my questions with the doctor as well as the staff who always obtained information I needed and went the extra mile to help me expect a positive outcome. I am convinced that faith in God, a continual expectation of healing and probably above everything else, positivity contributed to the success and outcome of my surgery. When it comes to glaucoma a person must arm themselves with education, sound and professional recommendations and a "I'm going to fight this and save my vision" attitude. The attitude of the doctor and the staff is obviously one of concern, patience and confidence, which is desperately needed when one faces solutions to preventing blindness. Dr. L. Siegel and the GCM staff were very thorough. They explained everything they were doing to my eyes which helped me relax. They patiently answered all of my questions. I was there about three hours but the time was not spent sitting around waiting. I was either getting a test on my eyes or with the doctor. Actually the time passed quickly. I have been seeing Dr. Marc Siegel for 25 years. I have always been very satisfied with him, both at his office in Grosse Pointe (many years ago), and in his St. Clair Shores office. He is extremely helpful, always kind and respectful. He will always explain things to you and you never feel rushed. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
